It is with great pleasure that I present to you the new campaign in collaboration with Sisterhood!
The collection is very much influenced by vintage fashion and it was such a joy to style them in Paris. I love how each piece is a statement in their own way, yet not overshadowing one another. Most importantly, every single item is comfortable and easy to wear on a daily basis which, to me, is a non-negotiable factor when you live a busy (Parisian or not!) life.
My favourite thing about this collection is the mix of influences between the romantic Parisian style I'm used to, and the very trendy 90s aesthetic I am becoming obsessed with, resulting in this timeless yet fashionable collection every girl will be happy to wear.
Introduce yourself (name/where you’re from/ what you do)
My name is Mélodie and I was born and currently live in Paris where I work on various creative projects like my instagram account (@melodiebance), modelling jobs and selling vintage clothing online (@vintage.bisous).
How did you get into creating for your instagram?
Instagram is a creative outlet I quickly fell in love with and I have been posting on it occasionally for years. It's only since last summer that I've been doing it more seriously and consistently.
How did you then build this into something you can work from?
By doing it in a more regular manner, I was able to gain confidence and find "my style" which in turn, allowed me to create better quality content. It has allowed me to meet wonderful people which are now my friends who have also helped me learning the ropes of the job.
What inspires you the most?
Everything, I'm literally a sponge! From instagram accounts, to movies, artworks, people in the street... the inspiration is endless.
When you’re not working, what do you love to do?
I love travelling although I haven't done this in a while! Visiting museums is a favourite hobby of mine, as well as perusing bookshops, meeting my friends at terraces and of course, indulge in patisseries!
How would you best describe your personal style?
My style is definitely inspired by the past, and has a romantic aesthetic too. I am also very inspired by "Parisian fashion" and sometimes like to experiment with more dramatic pieces. Altogether, my style is feminine and vintage inspired.
To be continued ...
My husband and I are trying to plan a holiday abroad but because we've been so busy, we're doing it a bit last minute. Let's keep our fingers crossed we'll find somewhere nice to go!
What’s your favourite thing about Paris?
I love that Paris is a metropolitan city yet its size is very manageable. I remember living in London where it could take me more than an hour to go from one place to another!
Best styling tip you can give?
Wear clothes that make you look beautiful. Don't buy clothes because they're trendy or because you've seen someone you admire wearing it, always make sure it fits YOU.
Next place you wish to visit?
I would love to visit Korea! Next year, perhaps...
Favourite 3 pieces from our summer collection and what you love about them?
I'm a big fan of dresses so obviously my first favourite item would have to be a dress. I love the Gabriella dress for it's flattering cut and pretty print. It's perfect for so many occasions.
I also love the Marie blouse which looks great with a pair of high-waisted jeans and sandals. It adds a feminine touch to what could have otherwise been a boring outfit.
Last but not least, I love the Jennifer pants. So classy!
Whats next for you?
I dream of opening my own coffee shop/vintage shop. Maybe in a couple of years?
I am so happy to finally share with you this collection in collaboration with Sisterhood! This collection is full of spring/summer but also autumn essentials you can play with and use, use, use. We wanted to create a cosy yet sexy and fun collection that you can wear from your sofa till late night! Because the most "sustainable" clothes are the ones you actually wear for a long long time. The inspiration was a lot coming from the 90's but still very feminine as the brand DNA! It was important to keep Sisterhood's core values and image and play with more timeless fabrics and patterns. We added some vintage inspired pieces, to mix and match with your wardrobe and create this very south of france look! Made in China in a small factory run by Sisterhood's partner, because it's important to work with trusted partners on the long term!
We used only sustainable fabrics that will evolve with your body and adapt to even ...pregnancy!
Can't wait to see how you style and wear the pieces your way
